• May 2024: NYK Line collaborated with the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonization (GCMD), based in Singapore, for a six-month project to trial marine biofuel for bunkering. The companies are expected to test a biofuel blend comprising 24% fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) and very low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) on a short-sea vehicle carrier, making stops at various ports.
• April 2024: French oil major TotalEnergies set up a joint venture with the Oman National Oil Company to supply liquified natural gas as a marine fuel. Marsa LNG Gas will cover upstream gas production and downstream gas liquefaction. LNG production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2028.

• February 2023, the 2600 megawatt Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) at Pegadapalli in Mancherial district is all set to become South India's first public sector coal-based power generating station and the country's first among State Public Sector Undertakings (PSU).
• November 2022, Following the contract award for a 1,320 megawatt (MW) thermal power plant in Talcher, Odisha, NTPC Ltd concluded contracts for four additional coal-fired power projects over the next three years. These four projects will increase energy generation capacity by 4.8 gigatonnes (GW).

• In November 2022, the Indonesian government announced that they would allow the construction of new coal plants, with a combined capacity of 13 gigawatts, that have already been tendered out. The plan is laid out in the country's 10-year energy plan for 2021-2030.
• In November 2022, the Asian Development Bank and a private power firm announced that they were teaming up to refinance and prematurely retire a coal-fired power plant. The 660-megawatt Cirebon 1 power plant in West Java would be refinanced in a USD 250 million to USD 300 million deal on the condition that it be taken out of service 10 to 15 years before its end 40- to 50-year useful life under a memorandum of understanding.

• October 2022: Enviva Inc., the supplier of sustainably derived wood biomass, released a white paper that explored how biomass could be used in industries other than fossil fuels, such as steel, cement, lime, chemicals, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
• June 2022: Mitrabara Adiperdana(MBAP) intended to begin constructing its first wood pellet plant, marking its entry into the renewable energy market. It was the company's subsidiary MalinauHijau Lestari's first venture into the wood pellet manufacturing industry with the construction of the plant, which was expected to be able to produce at least 120,000 tons of pellets per year when fully operational. The plant was expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2024 and gradually ramp up production.

• September 2023: Ørsted announced that the company entered its first solar project in the United Kingdom. The project, which will have a capacity of 740 MW, is located in Nottinghamshire near the border of Lincolnshire and is being co-developed with PS Renewables.
• June 2023: The UK Government approved the construction of the country's largest solar farm, large enough to power about 60,000 households, on farmland near Chelmsford. Longfield Solar Farm, which spans 380 hectares of intensive arable farmland near Terling, has the potential to generate enough electricity to supply four times the energy needs of all new dwellings planned for Chelmsford over the next 13 years.
• June 2023: AMPYR Solar Europe announced the acquisition of a 390 MWp Solar PV + BESS portfolio from Tyler Hill, which includes sites across the United Kingdom. The five projects have grid security and are being presented for planning approval. AMPYR Solar Europe will work with Tyler Hill to bring the assets to a "ready-to-build" level before beginning construction in 2024.

• March 2024: AMEA Power, a Dubai-based renewables developer, announced that it is progressing with its 500-MW Abydos solar project in Egypt. The project is located in Kom Ombo, Aswan governorate, and has power purchase agreements in place with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC).
• June 2023: A group of companies, including Abu Dhabi’s Masdar, signed an agreement with Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority. The agreement is to secure land for a USD 10 billion wind farm. The farm will have a capacity of 10 GW and will produce 47,790 GW hours of clean energy annually.

• May 2023: SBM Offshore and Esso Exploration & Production Guyana entered a 10-year Operations and Maintenance Enabling Agreement. The agreement entails SBM Offshore being responsible for the operations and maintenance of four FPSOs: Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, Prosperity, and ONE GUYANA.
• April 2023: Following a major upgrade to enable gas production, Shell resumed operations at the Pierce field in the United Kingdom Central North Sea. The Haewene Brim floating production, storage, and offloading vessel (FPSO), utilized for hydrocarbon production at the Pierce field, underwent significant modifications. A new subsea gas export line was installed, connecting to the SEGAL pipeline system, which transports gas to the St Fergus facility north of Aberdeen. This development allows for the extraction of gas from the Pierce field, which had previously been focused solely on oil production.
• April 2023: KBR, headquartered in Houston, officially announced the unexpected acquisition of an engineering contract for Equinor's Bay du Nord project, valued at USD 9.4 billion and located in the offshore eastern region of Canada. The awarded contract encompasses the possibility of providing detailed design and procurement management services until the completion of the FPSO unit.

• May 2023: EVE Energy Co. Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pemaju Kelang Lama Sdn Bhd to develop a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Malaysia. The plant will be built in Kedah state. According to a joint statement from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and EVE, it will focus on producing cylindrical lithium-ion batteries for power tools and electric two-wheelers.
• January 2023: Citaglobal Bhd collaborated with Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) to develop a battery manufacturing plant and battery energy storage system (BESS) in Malaysia. Citaglobal and IBC's collaboration includes designing, developing, and constructing integrated turnkey production facilities for battery cells, modules, and packs for electric vehicles (EVs).

• April 2023: ArcelorMittal announced that the company's Brazilian entity, ArcelorMittal Brazil, formed a joint venture with the Brazilian renewable energy company Casa dos Ventos to develop the 554 MW Babilonia wind power project. The project is expected to be developed at a cost of USD 800 million and will be located in the central region of Bahia, northeast Brazil. ArcelorMittal is anticipated to hold a 55% share in the joint venture, and the remaining share will be held by Casa dos Ventos.
• January 2023: Cepsa announced that it would build three new solar power projects in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The total capacity of the three solar energy farms is expected to be 400 MW. The projects are expected to be developed with an investment of USD 305 million in the towns of Campo de Criptana and Arenales de San Gregorio.
• May 2022: NJR Clean Energy Ventures (CEV) started construction on an 8.9-MW floating solar installation in Millburn, New Jersey, which is expected to be the largest floating array in the United States. The project uses a floating racking system, and 16,510 solar panels are expected to be installed on a reservoir located at the New Jersey American Water Canoe Brook Water Treatment Plant. The clean power generated by the array is anticipated to provide approximately 95% of the facility's annual power needs through a power purchase agreement with CEV.
