• October 2023: Broadcom and Semtech Corporation announced the demonstration of a 200 G/lane optical transceiver at the ECOC 2023, featuring Semtech’s latest Fiberdge 200 G PAM4 PMDs and Broadcom’s latest generation DSP PHY and single-mode optics.
• October 2023: II-VI Incorporated announced its demonstration of next-generation transceivers and laser technology for 800 G and 1.6T datacom transmission at ECOC 2023 in Glasgow, Scotland. Such advances are critical to sustaining the accelerating growth of the cloud driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). These transceivers are used in 25 T and 50 T Ethernet switches with 100 G electrical lanes.

• July 2024: T-Mobile introduced "Your Name, Our Wireless," a solution that simplifies the process for both traditional and non-traditional MVNOs to establish and manage their personalized wireless services. This service operates on the United States' most extensive and highly acclaimed 5G network. Your Name, Our Wireless offers an end-to-end managed and operated solution. It streamlines backend setup and daily operations, empowering companies to prioritize customer engagement and pursue new revenue streams.
• December 2023: NextGen Co. Ltd teamed with MATRIXX Software, a player in 5G and digital monetization solutions based in California, to introduce a consolidated billing platform. NextGen leveraged its implementation expertise and technical acumen to build a solution that holistically caters to mobile virtual network operator's (MVNO's) business needs, encompassing both operational support and consulting services.

• March 2024: Ericsson and Du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company, declared a strategic alliance to facilitate Ericsson with wireless network products, allowing intelligent services to the government and enterprise sectors in the United Arab Emirates. Under this agreement, both companies joined to design private 4G and 5G networks. They will work closely to enhance connectivity for government and enterprise customers by creating private networks to enable Industry 4.0 adoption and intelligent services.
• August 2023: Etisalat by E& announced the release of Wi-Fi as a Service, its newest product. This innovative solution was created to improve businesses' connections by expanding their Wi-Fi signal and coverage across their buildings. The comprehensive package allows UAE companies to benefit from improved Wi-Fi without bearing the cost of infrastructure upgrades through end-to-end installation, 24/7 assistance, and reduced OPEX (operating expenses).

• April 2024: TowerCo. of Africa Uganda secured USD 40 million in funding to expand coverage in the country's rural areas. The financing, to be disbursed over a 10-year period, comes from the European Investment Bank, the Development Bank of Austria (OeEB), and the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries. TowerCo. of Africa Uganda plans to install 506 new telecom towers strategically located in rural regions that currently lack mobile network access or where existing networks are saturated. These towers will provide rural communities access to 4G and 5G data services and mobile money solutions and promote financial inclusion.
• November 2023: Telxius partnered with the Firmina Subsea cable system. This system will connect the US East Coast to Las Toninas, Argentina, with additional landings in Praia Grande, Brazil, and Punta Del Este, Uruguay. Telxius will be hosting Firmina at its Santos digital hub in Brazil.
• August 2023: STC Group, a pioneer in digital transformation in the Middle East and Africa, announced that its subsidiary, TAWAL, had started its operations in Europe. The acquisition of the telecom tower assets of United Group in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, and the Republic of Slovenia, as part of STC’s strategy to grow and expand, and after all relevant regulatory approvals had been received. With the acquisition of the assets, TAWAL currently owns and operates more than 4.800 sites across three countries (Bulgarian, Croatian, and Slovenian) and provides operation services to new clients in those countries.

• October 2023: MediaTek announced a Strategic Partnership with Vivo to strengthen its smartphone AI capabilities. This collaboration will focus on developing and implementing AI models at an unprecedented scale, which will transform the user experience of Vivo devices. One of the key highlights of this collaboration is the deployment of 1B and 7B AI big language models and a 1B AI vision big model directly on the terminal side (On-device Generative AI).

• June 2023: Qualcomm Technologies Inc. announced the extension of its collaboration with the Snapdragon platform, which will power Sony's next generation of smartphones. The companies have agreed to cooperate in the next generation of premium, high-end, and mid-range smartphones. To provide users with improved functionality, better performance, and more immersive user experiences, this joint effort will focus on integrating Qualcomm Technologies' advanced Snapdragon mobile platforms into Sony smartphones in the future.

• April 2024: Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF agreed to buy a 51% stake in Telecommunication Towers Company Ltd (TAWAL) from STC Group, extending a new tab and paving the way for creating the region's most extensive telecom tower company. Under the agreement, PIF and STC will combine TAWAL and Golden Lattice Investment Company (GLIC) to set up a newly formed company with around 30,000 mobile tower sites.
• March 2024: Ericsson and Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) signed an MoU aimed at enhancing and evolving the network in Saudi Arabia with open radio access network (RAN) principles with a focus on expanding the network's flexibility. The signing occurred during LEAP 2024, the third edition of Saudi Arabia's annual technology event in Riyadh's capital. Exploring the potential opportunities of adopting Open RAN, the collaboration represents a significant milestone in Mobily's network evolution. The partners will explore various 5G deployment options across a flexible network architecture for purpose-built RAN and Cloud RAN.

• In October 2022, Rogers Business unveiled the next stage of its strategic alliance with Microsoft for the first time in the world. After launching Operator Connect as the sole Canadian supplier last year, Rogers Business is the first operator to offer Canadians the newest hybrid work solutions from Microsoft. Critical solutions for Canadian organizations are expected to be delivered by the strength and performance of Rogers' 5G wireless network with Microsoft Azure's cloud architecture.
• In September 2022, Bell declared the availability of Bell Fibe Gigabit 8.0, giving consumers access to the fastest internet speeds in North America from the comfort of their homes. Bell's pure fiber Internet Gigabit 8.0 service, which offers symmetrical download and upload speeds of 8 Gbps, would now be accessible in Toronto's eligible areas. Bell's Giga Hub, which features the most recent Wi-Fi 6E technology, will also be available to consumers in Ontario and Québec.

• June 2024: Standard Bank, headquartered in South Africa, unveiled a new collaboration with telecom giant MTN to introduce a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service. Standard Bank is also rebranding its mobile service, transitioning from 'Standard Bank Mobile' to 'Standard Bank Connect.' This rebranding accompanies the launch of a new lineup of data and voice packages.
• February 2024: Openserve, South Africa's telecommunications infrastructure provider, and Intelsat, operator of integrated satellite and terrestrial networks, announced that they were bolstering their enduring partnership. Intelsat will modernize over 900 sites for Openserve, a Telkom subsidiary boasting the nation's most significant fixed broadband network.

• September 2022: AT&T unveiled its collaboration with Ford, thereby promising to deliver 5G Connectivity to the heavy-duty 2023 models of Ford. This ensures faster navigation, mapping, and audio downloads with AT&T 5G and enables Ford Power-Up software upgrades to be downloaded easily. This development will help the vehicle get better over time.
• August 2022: in association with Canva and Meta, T-Mobile launched an offer for small business enterprises to improve their marketing for free with user-friendly, skilled design and advertising resources. Through the end of the year, T-Mobile is providing Canva Pro on Us to ALL qualified small business customers, in addition to USD 200 in free Facebook and Instagram advertising.

• June 2024: Snapchat owner Snap (SNAP.N) launched its latest iteration of generative AI technology for AR, which will allow users to see more realistic special effects when using phone cameras to film themselves.
• September 2023: Qualcomm Technologies launched two new spatial computing platforms, namely Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 and Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1, to enable the next generation of mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR) devices, and smart glasses. The Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 Platform brings premium MR and VR technologies into a single-chip architecture to unlock next-level immersive experiences in thinner and more comfortable headsets that do not require an external battery pack.
