Market Share of Managed Print Services Industry
The managed print services market is highly competitive and consists of a significant number of major players. In terms of market share, none of the players currently dominate the market; thus, the market is moving towards fragmentation. The providers are innovating their offerings in order to gain a competitive advantage.
- November 2023: Japanese imaging and electronics company Ricoh has partnered with a Belgian 3D printing firm to produce 3D models of a patient’s anatomy. Utilizing Materialise’s software alongside Ricoh’s printing hardware, Ricoh says the deal will allow clinicians to easily request anatomical models of a patient’s anatomy, mapped digitally through imaging software, to better explain procedures and conditions to patients using the patient-specific models. This approach allows Ricoh to sidestep the requirements for the company to be treated as a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-registered medical device manufacturer, avoiding some of the costs and regulations incurred through the process but also urges clinicians to be aware that items made using 3D printing could be considered medical devices once in use and would subject to regulation.
- November 2023: Aurora Managed Print Services, a provider of comprehensive managed print solutions, announced the opening of its new office in Newcastle. This expansion aims to serve the North East of England better, reinforcing Aurora’s commitment to local engagement while extending its reach. Aurora’s primary objective is to strengthen existing customer relationships and forge new partnerships across the North East.
