- July 2023: BASF expanded its Xitavo soybean seed portfolio with the addition of its 11 new high-yielding varieties for the 2024 growing season, featuring the Enlist E3 technology to combat difficult weeds.
- June 2023: BASF, Syngenta, and Arisa collaborated to establish India's Wage Improvement in Seed Hybrids (WISH) initiative. This multi-stakeholder project aims to address child labor and promote compliance with minimum wage standards in the vegetable seed sector. The four-year project is co-funded with a grant from the Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO).
- May 2023: Advanta Seeds made an agreement with Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) to develop hybrid canola seeds with nematode management potential.

- August 2022: The Government of Uganda, with support from the Government of the Republic of Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has launched a nine-year project to develop new varieties of vegetables, strengthen seed certification capacity, and improve the technical skills of vegetable farmers.

- March 2021: CIC Agribusiness launched Hybrid seed Chilli (MICH HY1) at Kothmale, resulting in high growth and high vigor with a new type of polytunnel introduced by the envirodome system from Isreal.
April 2019: S&W Seed Company expanded its geographical presence in Asia-Pacific to develop hybrids and varieties of sorghum, to achieve higher sales.
August 2022: DLF opened a new research station for forage, turf, and legumes in the 30-acre site in Bangor, Wisconsin. This site allows for a more natural evaluation of drought tolerance and nitrogen efficiency forage seeds.
- February 2024: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture Jahad (MAJ) inaugurated a workshop aimed at enhancing pistachio food safety and productivity. Their focus is on refining safety procedures and boosting the output, export, and quality of pistachio products throughout the entire supply chain management system.
- January 2024: Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc., the second-largest pistachio grower and processor in the United States, introduced a new product named the Pistachio Pub Mix, expanding its innovative line of premium pistachio snacks.
- April 2023: Nationwide Produce Plc, a top supplier of fresh produce in the UK, has unveiled its new premium British asparagus brand, 'SPEAR IT'.
- July 2021: Teboza, a Dutch company, launched an asparagus concept called Tasty Spears. With the launch of Tasty Spears, the company wants to allow consumers to enjoy healthy, fresh asparagus year-round.
- February 2023: Roquette, Agri Obtentions, Eurial, Greencell, INRAE, and the Université Lumière Lyon 2 have unveiled a joint initiative: AlinOVeg, titled “Innovating in Plant-Based Food.” Over the next five years, these public and private entities will collaborate to tackle challenges in the plant-based food sector. Their goals include cultivating a French sector centered on plant-based sources, specifically pea and fava bean proteins, and providing healthier, sustainable alternatives to dairy products. The initiative boasts a budget of €11.4 million, with €8.3 million sourced from the French government under the France 2030 initiative.
- September 2022: Lantmännen, an agricultural cooperative in Northern Europe, invested over SEK 1 billion (USD 95.7 million) in a new large-scale production facility for pea protein in Lidköping, Sweden, which is expected to be completed in early 2026.
- May 2022: China and Russia signed a phytosanitary protocol for peas opening the door for competition in Canada's top market. In the upcoming years, Russia will start exporting peas to China, increasing competition for Canadian exports.
- January 2023: Powers Irish Whiskey launched the world's first 100% Irish rye whiskey bottled at 43.2% ABV. Powers Irish Rye is released in the United States, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Dublin Airport, and online platforms.
- July 2022: Danone launched Alpro Totally Nordic Rye across Sweden and Finland. The drink is a plant-based alternative to milk and the first of its kind based on rye grain.
- August 2021: In the United States, northeastern Iowa farmers used hybrid rye to help reduce ragweeds without using herbicides on row crops such as corn and soy.
- March 2023: Bayer introduced its cutting-edge rice fungicide, Etiage, in Thailand. Formulated with Trifloxystrobin and Tebuconazole SC300, Etiage adeptly protects rice crops from fungal threats, including Leaf Spot, Blast, and Dirty Panicle.
- June 2022: Best Agrolife, one of the leading agrochemical companies in Thailand, launched its agro-products basket of insecticide, fungicide, and pesticide products, Ronfen, AxeMan, Warden, and Tombo.
- June 2022: BASF Agriculture Solutions launched Basta - x with new applications on cassava and rubber in Thailand. With Basta - x, BASF provides a non-selective, non-residual herbicide with limited translocation potential, effectively controlling over 80 weed species of rice, mango, cassava, palm oil, and rubber farms.
- July 2024: The Spanish government has removed the sales tax on olive oil to protect consumers. This action follows severe droughts that have driven olive oil prices up by 272% since 2020.
- September 2020: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are collaborating with the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Union to conduct two training sessions in Jordan. These sessions focus on best practices for olive oil extraction and quality assessment, targeting key stakeholders in the olive oil industry.
- January 2022: The Italian government has enacted legislation to safeguard suppliers and operators from unfavorable contractual agreements that impede profitability. This law also prohibits the sale of extra virgin olive oil below cost.
