  • February 2024: DHL Supply Chain (DHL) is continuing the decarbonization of its Australian transport fleet by introducing additional new electric vehicles. The company has added two Terberg YT200EV electric yard tractors to its truck fleet and is supporting Australian electric vehicle manufacturing with the introduction of its first SEA Electric light duty truck to its last-mile fleet.
  • January 2024: DHL Express has commenced services for the final Boeing 777 freighter deployed at the South Asia Hub in Singapore. With a payload capability of 102 tons, the aircraft joins the four other Boeing 777 freighters already deployed in Singapore to boost inter-continental connectivity between the Asia Pacific and the Americas. Sporting a dual DHL-Singapore Airlines (SIA) livery, these five freighters provide a total of 1,224 tons of payload capacity to meet growing customer demand for international express shipping services.
  • January 2024: Kuehne + Nagel has announced its Book & Claim insetting solution for electric vehicles, to improve its decarbonization solutions. Developing Book & Claim insetting solutions for road freight was a strategic priority for Kuehne + Nagel. Customers who use Kuehne + Nagel's road transport services can now claim the carbon reductions of electric trucks when it is not possible to physically move their goods on these vehicles.

Concurrently, Xpressbees, hailing from Pune, is actively exploring partnerships to make its foray into this dynamic market.
  • February 2024: Shadowfax, a key logistics service provider for hyper-local and on-demand delivery firms in India, secured a substantial USD 100 million in its latest funding round. This funding comes behind an impressive 35% annual growth rate. Shadowfax's expansive network now spans 2,500 cities and over 15,000 zip codes. The company boasts a remarkable daily delivery volume, handling more than 2 million packages, and has garnered a user base exceeding 3.5 million.
  • December 2023: Aerovision Technology Limited, ATL, and Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited agreed to install ATL's proprietary intelligent cargo temperature detection system in appropriate locations within Hactl's SuperTerminal 1. To cope with the increasing volume of hazardous air cargo and to mitigate the risk of fire, it will further enhance the safety and reliability of cargo inspections.

  • June 2023: Kuehne+Nagel, a global logistics company, marked an agreement to acquire Morgan Cargo, a leading South African, United Kingdom, and Kenyan freight forwarder specializing in transporting and handling perishable goods. The acquisition strengthens the company's perishables logistics service offering while enhancing connectivity for customers to and from South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Kenya, which includes state-of-the-art cold chain facilities.
  • April 2023: DHL Global Forwarding signed an MoU with Turkish Cargo to extend its operations to SMARTIST, a cargo facility for Turkish Cargo at the Istanbul airport.   • August 2023: Digital logistics provider and freight brokerage Convoy unveiled an offering for just-in-time (JIT) trucking, with a pledge of delivery within 15 minutes of the set arrival time. Its new JIT service leverages a network of over 400,000 trucks and the IT infrastructure to find matching carriers to meet specific shipper requirements.

(Echo), one of the leading providers of technology-enabled transportation and supply chain management services, launched EchoInsure+, a new and integrated, full-coverage cargo insurance product offered exclusively to Echo’s clients. By partnering with insurance group Falvey, EchoInsure+ offers an easy way for clients to access best-in-class protection for their LTL shipments through EchoShip, Echo's proprietary online shipping platform, and Echo’s representatives.
  • January 2024: Snowman Logistics initiated operations at a newly leased multi-temperature-controlled warehouse in Guwahati, Assam. The total capacity of the warehouse is 5,152 pallets, and this facility features eight chambers and four loading bays equipped with the latest infrastructure. Specifically designed to accommodate products from ambient temperatures to minus 25 degrees Celsius, the warehouse will primarily provide storage, handling, and transportation services for ice cream, poultry, ready-to-eat food, dairy products, confectionery, bakery products, seafood, fruits, and vegetables. Other products include pharmaceuticals, specialized chemicals, and various commodities. With this expansion, the company’s overall pallet capacity has soared to 1,41,000+ pallets, strategically distributed across 20 cities, thereby expanding its foothold in Northeast India.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, SITC is an intra-Asia shipping logistics company. The new agreement will see the two parties focus their cooperation on route network layout, international transit, complete logistics service chain, cross-border e-commerce, hinterland cargo source expansion, port intelligence, and digital transformation.

  • February 2024: Kenan Advantage Group, the largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider in North America, acquired Northern Dry Bulk, a company specializing in the transportation and storage of plastic resins for clients in the automotive, packaging, and electronics sectors across the United States and Canada. This acquisition brought 36 tractors, 91 trailers, and two terminals with two maintenance bays, along with warehouse space and trans-loading capabilities, into the KAG portfolio.
  • April 2023: Trimac Transportation announced the acquisition of American Industrial Partners (AIP) Logistics, a Central Ohio-based company specializing in bulk terminal services, transportation, and warehousing for various industries, including plastics, liquid chemicals, food-grade storage, and metal production. AIP operates a fleet comprising 13 tractors and 119 trailers alongside other yard vehicular equipment. The 52-acre facility, situated in Wapakoneta, Ohio (18 miles south of Lima, Ohio), features cold, dry, and food-grade warehousing, bulk trans-loading, and storage facilities with access to the CSX Transportation rail line, as well as dry van, reefer, dry bulk, and bulk liquid transportation services.

August 2023: BBM Logistica SA, a Brazilian road logistics transport company, announced the renewal of its contract with CMPC Celulose Riograndense for another five years until 2028. As per the agreement, BBM will invest USD 10.21 million in new equipment and logistics infrastructure to strengthen its operations in transporting wood from extraction fields to pulp and paper factories.

July 2023: DHL Express (a global logistics company) announced the expansion and modernization of its Distribution Center in Goiás while expanding its operations and presence in Extrema Minas Gerais, mainly for sectors such as pharmaceutical and retail fashion.

• July 2023: DHL Supply Chain, one of the world’s leading logistics companies and part of DHL Group, continues its strategic investments in emerging markets and fast-growing economies. Today, DHL Supply Chain announces a landmark investment of EUR 500 million into the strategically located Latin American markets. These investments made until 2028 are supposed to strengthen DHL’s operations in Latin America.

• June 2023: Japanese automaker Toyota will invest USD 328 million to produce a new hybrid model of its popular Tacoma pickup truck in Mexico. The company plans to expand its factory in the central Mexican city of Guanajuato, where Toyota already produces its Tacoma truck line for the North American market.

June 2023: Emergent Cold Latin America announced the acquisition of Hook Chile, a prominent driver in the country’s salmon industry and food importer. Hook Chile operates two high-quality installations with fresh land for unborn expansions that could double the living capacity. First is a pallet storehouse in San Antonio, strategically located near the Port of San Antonio and the roadways connecting Chile’s main metropolitan areas.

February 2023: Emergent Cold Latin America, a growing refrigerated storehouse and logistics service provider, announced the acquisition of Multifrigo, a leading driver in Santiago – Chile’s capital and largest megacity. Emergent Cold LatAm also blazoned plans to expand Multifrigo’s central automated installation in El Olivo to 35,000 pallet positions or triple its current size, creating fresh capacity and service immolations.
