- May 2024: The Association of Vanilla Exporters of Uganda (VANEX) advocated for diversifying vanilla supply sources to prevent disruptions. They highlighted Uganda's high-quality vanilla, which matches Madagascar's flavor and offers a unique profile with up to 4.55% vanillin content.
- March 2024: Madagascar, Papua New Guinea (PNG), and Comoros have agreed to establish a world association for vanilla-growing countries. It also focused on the nutritional and health benefits of millets and their suitability for cultivation under challenging conditions exacerbated by climate change.
