  • March 2024, EDP Renováveis, the fourth-largest renewable energy producer globally, initiated operations at a 202-megawatt (MW) solar energy park in central Portugal, marking its largest installation in Europe. This venture is overseen by its parent company, EDP. Named the Cerca project and situated in the municipalities of Alenquer and Azambuja, north of Lisbon, it features over 310,000 solar panels. With an anticipated annual output of 330 gigawatt-hours (GWh), the facility can power approximately 100,000 households, equivalent to around 1% of Portugal's population.
  • September 2023: the United Kingdom government announced the results of its latest renewable energy auction. Around 56 solar projects with a total capacity of 1,927.68 MW secured 15-year CfDs at a final price of USD 57/MW.
  • February 2023: A German renewable energy project developed by RWE and Greek state-owned utility PPC announced that it reached an agreement to establish a 450 MW solar photovoltaic project in Greece through a joint venture company, Meton Energy. Construction will begin soon and is expected to come online by the end of 2024. Meton Energy has also signed a 10-year bilateral power purchase agreement (PPA) with PPC post-project completion.

The XQ330, driven by the Cat C9.3B diesel engine, boasts a rating of up to 288 kW for standby and 264 kW for prime operation at 60 Hz. At 50 Hz, it can deliver up to 341 kVA in standby and 310 kVA in prime power applications.

• In April 2022, BRAUN Windturbinen GmbH, a German small wind turbine manufacturer, supplied Umstro with a small wind turbine with a 4.5 kW capacity installed on a 7.0 m tilt mast, making it a procedure-free project in Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany.

In February 2022, a consortium formed by the Spanish companies Técnicas Reunidas and TSK was awarded a contract by Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) of Mexico for the design and execution of Valladolid and Mérida combined cycle plants. These plants are expected to have an approximate capacity of 1,000 MW and 500 MW, respectively.

In April 2022, Malaysia's largest gas-based power plant Edra Energy's 2.2 GW combined cycle power plant, commenced operations in Alor Gajah, Malacca, Malaysia. The new plant consists of three generating blocks capable of generating over 745 MW per block, each including a GE 9HA.02 gas turbine, an STF-D650 steam turbine, a W88 generator, and a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG).

  • March 2022: The ZEBRA (Zero Waste Blade Research) consortium is a new step in the wind energy industry's transition to a circular economy with the production of its 100% recyclable wind turbine prototype blade. The 62-meter blade was made using Arkema's Elium resin, a thermoplastic resin well known for its recyclable properties, and the new high-performance Glass Fabrics from Owens Corning.
  • March 2022: Hitachi Power Solutions will commence advanced services titled - Blade Total Service. It is expected to mitigate the risks of wind power facilities, including deterioration due to wear and tear of rotating blades, the stress imposed by violent winds during typhoons, and damage caused by lightning - by combining AI and other digital technologies with cutting-edge drone technology.
  • January 2024: Suzlon Group made a new 225 MW wind energy order from Everrenew Energy. As per the order, the company will install 75 wind turbine generators with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular tower and a rated capacity of 3 MW each at Everrenew Energy's sites at Vengaimandalam, Trichy district, and Ottapidaram, Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu.
  • November 2023: GE Vernova agreed with O2 Power Private Limited to supply, install, and commission 36 units of its workhorse 2.7-132 onshore wind turbines for the 97 MW wind power projects in Maharashtra, India.
  • January 2023: Braun Windturbinen GmbH, a wind turbine manufacturer in Germany, announced the installation of 7.5 KW of small wind turbines. The system operates three parallel to the grid with the Smart Wind SW7.5 and as a backup heating system with a 6.0 kW heating rod. When 2.5 kW is reached in grid-parallel operation, the heating rod is automatically switched on according to the turbine characteristic curve. The monitoring of the domestic hot water temperature is adjustable and installed at the small wind turbine.
  • In February 2023, Volvo Penta expanded its industrial genset product line with a new 200 kVA D8 Stage II engine. The 8-liter power-generating engine provides excellent fuel efficiency, a compact size, and low noise levels.
  • In October 2022, Himoinsa, a provider of power technology solutions, showcased its whole Mobile Power product line at Bauma 2022 in Munich, including battery power storage systems, light towers, and gas and diesel generator sets with Stage V engines. The company launched the EHR | Battery Power Generator (60 kWh) and works on 500 kWh and 1 MW units in 20-foot containers and 2 MW units in 40-foot containers.
  • May 2023: Suzlon, a developer of renewable energy solutions, has received a 69 MW wind energy order from the Indian division of a renowned Nordic Energy Company. Suzlon will deploy 23 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with 3 MW rated capacity and a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower.
  • October 2022: Suzlon Group secured new order to develop 144.9 MW wind power projects located at Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh sites for the Aditya Birla Group. As a part of the contract, the company will install around 69 units of wind turbine generators (Wind Turbines) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each. It is expected to commence operations by the end of 2023.
  • January 2022: The Blue Circle and its partner CleanTech Global Renewables Inc. signed a contract to construct an offshore wind project in the Philippines with a capacity of 1.2 GW located in Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. The wind farm will feature 100 turbines with a unit capacity of 12 MW.
  • June 2024: LS Cable & System began the mass production of 525 kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cables, which are to be used for TenneT’s 2 GW grid connection systems BalWin4 & LanWin1.
  • May 2024: The United Kingdom Port of Tyne negotiated with LS Eco Advanced Cables for a long-term lease for a cable factory. LS Eco Advanced Cables is interested in the potential for a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) factory on the Tyne Renewables Quay site in northeast England, worth an investment of USD 1,190 million. Both parties have signed an agreement for a limited but extendable period of exclusivity during which the Port of Tyne has agreed to refrain from entering party transactions to allow the parties time to negotiate agreements for the grant of a long lease relating to the Tyne Renewables Quay site.
  • September 2024: WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP) announced a collaboration with S.P.M. Animal Feed Co., Ltd. and A.P.M. Agro Co., Ltd. to develop a 9 MW solar power project in Ratchaburi. This project includes a 3.51 MW floating solar system, a 1.066 MW ground-based solar farm, and a 4.395 MW solar car park, with a total investment of 200 million baht. This project is set to start supplying electricity by 2025.
  • July 2024: Myanmar’s CAG Engineering Co Ltd. and several Thai technical expert companies, including PEA Encom Co Ltd and others, signed an MOU to explore and develop renewable and traditional power sources. The agreement focuses on enhancing solar, wind, hydro, and natural gas projects.
