- April 2023: K+S acquired a 75% share of the fertilizer business of a South African trading company, Industrial Commodities Holdings (Pty) Ltd (ICH). In addition to expanding the core business, K+S is strengthening its operations in southern and eastern Africa as a result of this acquisition. The newly acquired fertilizer business in the future is to be operated in a joint venture under the name of FertivPty Ltd.
- January 2023: ICL has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with General Mills, in which it will be the supplier of strategic specialty phosphate solutions to General Mills. The long-term agreement will also focus on international expansion.
- May 2022: ICL launched three new NPK formulations of Solinure, a product with increased trace elements to optimize yields.

- July 2023: ICL Group introduced a biodegradable chelate with demonstrated bioactivity. This innovative technology not only boasts a significant average yield increase of 2.5 bags per hectare in soybean cultivation, when compared to traditional chelating agents but also ensures biodegradability in the soil and exhibits a pronounced physiological effect.
- January 2023: Nouryon, a global leader in specialty chemicals, acquired ADOB, a prominent supplier of chelated micronutrients, fertilizers, and other specialized agricultural solutions in Poland. This strategic move enhances Nouryon's diverse crop nutrition portfolio and underscores its unwavering commitment to the agriculture and food sector. The acquisition enables the company to broaden its range of services and products for industry customers.
- December 2022: The Government of Ontario finalized amendments to On-Site and Excess Soil Regulation (Excess Soil Regulation) and the Rules for Soil Management and Excess Soil Quality Standards (Soil Rules). These amendments, which came into effect on January 1, 2023, include removing the reuse planning requirements for some projects and removing the limit on soil storage piles.
- May 2022: Koppert India and UPL India signed an agreement wherein Koppert will produce a biofertilizer for UPL, which UPL will offer under its new global business unit, NPP, to its growers in India. The biofertilizer, with the brand name Copio, helps improve soil health, leading to better plant establishment and improved overall output. This commercial relationship is the continuity of the long-term collaboration between both companies, already consolidated in Japan and Spain and primed to grow across new geographies.
In June 2022, K+S signed a letter of intent with the Swedish company CinisFertilizer to cooperate with the synthetic production of potassium sulfate (SOP). This implies that K+S is to supply CinisFertilizer with its entire potassium chloride (MOP) requirements, and in return purchase up to 600,000 metric ton of potassium sulfate (SOP) per year from Cinis.
In March 2021, AnaamInternational Holding Group acquired Al TakamulNational Agriculture Company by signing of Non-Binding Memorandum of Understanding ('MOU') and acquiring 100% of the shares of the company. This will help in the integration with agricultural lands owned by AnaamGroup and this acquisition adds value to the group and its shareholders.
In October 2021, ICL's polysulfate has been approved for use in organic farming. The EU and USDA certified both the standard and granular grades as organic fertilizers.
- July 2022: A new granular inoculant called LALFIX® START SPHERICAL Granule was launched, which combines Bacillus velezensis, a plant growth-promoting microbe, with two distinct rhizobium strains. This powerful and well-tested PGPM boosts phosphorus solubilization and improves root mass.
In January 2020, Symborg launched BlueN to improve agricultural productivity by using an atmospheric nitrogen-fixing bacterium, Methylobacterium symbioticum.
In November 2018, ASB Greenworld launched Bag-in-Box, an environmentally-friendly packaging solution for liquid organic fertilizer, which reduces the logistics volume, waste, and carbon footprint.
September 2022: Corteva Agriscience agreed to acquire Symborg Inc. to strengthen its global presence with a strong distribution network.
- November 2023: UPL Limited incorporated the company's subsidiary in South Africa, Advanta Seeds Ltd. The subsidiary established in the country carries out seeds and related business in the region.
- May 2023: Capstone Seeds have developed two genetically modified cultivars such as CAP 9-242RRBT, which is a fast yellow maize hybrid, and CAP 9-569RRBT, a medium white maize hybrid for dry land plantings.
- February 2023: Plant genetics company GDM got approval for the launch of 13 soy plant varieties with new GMO seed technology in South Africa.
- September 2024: Corteva Agriscience introduced LumiTreo, a new fungicide for soybean seed treatment in Brazil. This product targets initial diseases affecting soybeans, including root rot, damping-off, and wilting. LumiTreo's formulation combines three active ingredients such as oxathiapiprolin, picoxystrobin, and ipconazole.
- May 2024: Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) has approved three new bio-insecticidal and bio-nematicidal solutions developed by Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp. These solutions, derived from inactivated cells of the company's proprietary Burkholderia platform, are approved for seed treatment, in-furrow, and foliar applications.
- June 2024: DLF International Seeds acquired Corteva Agriscience's alfalfa breeding program, which includes its germplasm, technologies, Alforex seeds brand, and key personnel. This acquisition benefits South Africa's agricultural sector by providing access to high-quality alfalfa forage seeds.
- March 2023: Royal Barenbrug has launched its new subsidiary in South Africa, which will focus on local testing, seed production and marketing & sales of innovative turf, forage grasses, and legumes in the South Africa region.
- January 2023: Growmark Inc. has acquired the remaining stake in Allied Seeds, making Growmark the sole owner of the company. The entity will continue to operate as Allied Seed, LLC.
- September 2024: Netafim introduced Growsphere, a comprehensive operating system that automates precision irrigation and fertigation. This system has demonstrated its ability to increase value per hectare by enhancing operational efficiency and providing reliable implementation for growers at all stages of their irrigation and fertigation automation process.
- October 2023: Netafim has introduced a new drip line named Toofan. Featuring advanced anti-clogging technology, Toofan guarantees efficient delivery of both water and nutrients. Moreover, Toofan is priced 20% lower than the currently available thin wall, non-pressure-compensated (NPC) drip lines in the Indian market.
