  • August 2024: BTR New Material Group, a Chinese manufacturer specializing in battery materials, has officially launched production at its newly established anode materials facility for lithium-ion batteries in Indonesia. The company asserts that, once fully expanded, this facility will become the largest anode production site outside of China. BTR intends to utilize graphite products sourced from its Morowali plant in Indonesia. In Q4 of this year, BTR plans to initiate the second phase of the anode material plant, with a goal to double its capacity to a remarkable 160,000 tons annually. To support this ambitious expansion, the company is investing an additional USD 299 million.
  • October 2023: EcoGraf, an Australian firm, is set to collaborate with VinES Energy Solutions (VinES), a local lithium-ion battery manufacturer, to explore the establishment of a battery anode material (BAM) facility in Vietnam. Leveraging its U.S.-patented BAM processing technology, EcoGraf, renowned for its graphite production, will support VinES. In exchange, VinES, a key player in the prominent Vin Group, will provide services to facilitate EcoGraf's expansion.
