All-Terrain Crane Market Analysis
The All-Terrain Crane Market size is estimated at USD 17.34 billion in 2024, and is expected to reach USD 24.32 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 5.65% during the forecast period (2024-2029).
The demand for all-terrain cranes remains consistently high year after year due to their versatility and mobility. These cranes are suitable for off-road use and can easily navigate rough terrains. The construction industry, in particular, has been a key driver of demand for these cranes, as they are essential for lifting heavy loads and transporting materials to higher areas. In addition to the construction industry, all-terrain mobile cranes are also in high demand in industries such as oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure development.
These cranes are ideal for projects that require lifting and moving heavy machinery and equipment in remote locations that traditional cranes may not be suitable for. Their ability to move over uneven terrain makes them essential for construction sites with demanding environmental conditions. These cranes are designed to handle a variety of tasks, from lifting heavy loads to moving materials horizontally across a construction site. This versatility makes them a cost-effective solution for companies looking to streamline their operations and increase efficiency.
For this reason, several large-scale project companies provide great demand for all-terrain mobile cranes to expand their business growth.
In March 2024, Liebherr Group, one of the largest construction machine manufacturers in the world, announced that its Saudi unit secured a major order of 55 new all-terrain cranes, the biggest order in the company's history, from Arabian Machinery & Heavy Equipment Company (AMHEC).
Unveiling the order, Liebherr said all these new mobile cranes will boast lifting capacities in the range of 100 to 800 tonnes. The first of these cranes will be shipped to the Kingdom in a few months. AMHEC, a major crane and heavy haulage company, placed this extraordinary order in December last year and was likely to receive the first of the cranes within the next few months.

All-Terrain Crane Market Size Summary
The all-terrain crane market is poised for significant growth, driven by the resurgence of the construction and transportation sectors. Emerging economies, particularly in Asia-Pacific, are experiencing rapid expansion in construction activities, which is bolstering demand for all-terrain cranes. Despite the initial setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted supply chains and halted production, the market has rebounded as economies reopened. The demand for all-terrain cranes is further supported by infrastructure development projects globally, with Europe being the largest market. However, challenges such as high maintenance costs and initial investment requirements may impede market growth. The increasing trend of equipment rental is also influencing the market dynamics, offering a cost-effective alternative for businesses.
The competitive landscape of the all-terrain crane market is characterized by the presence of major international and regional players, including Liebherr-International AG, Terex Corporation, and XCMG. These companies are actively innovating and expanding their product offerings to maintain a competitive edge. Recent advancements include the introduction of new models with enhanced features and technologies, such as Manitowoc's Grove truck crane and SANY's electric truck crane. Additionally, strategic acquisitions and investments, like Terex's acquisition of Steelweld, are aimed at enhancing manufacturing capabilities. The market's growth is further supported by substantial investments in infrastructure projects across Europe, as outlined by the EU Cohesion Policy, which is expected to drive demand for all-terrain cranes in the coming years.
